The Santa Monica Swim Center will operate an abbreviated schedule of 8:00 am-12:00 pm in observance of the Martin Luther King Jr. Holiday on Monday January 16th, 2023.

No reservation required, drop-in only.

The Santa Monica Swim Center will be closed beginning Monday, December 19, 2022 and will reopen Monday, January 9, 2023 in order to complete repairs and make improvements to ensure safe and consistent 2023 operations for our guests. Repairs and maintenance to be completed during the closure will include:

· Restore pool deck rough areas

· Replace broken tiles around pool perimeters pools

· Preventative maintenance on pool pumps, machinery and equipment

· Deep cleaning of the facility

· Deep cleaning of deck drains and locker room fixtures

· Electrical inspections and maintenance

· Various miscellaneous items

Swim Center Lap Swimming Hours are expanding beginning November 8th! Please click here for the updated Winter Lap Swim Hours.

Facility will be closed on Thursday, November 24th and Friday November 25th in observance of Thanksgiving. We will be open on Saturday November 26th at our scheduled time.

Starting Sunday October 31st we will have recreational swimming only on Sundays from 11:00am - 4:45pm.

There will be no Recreational Swimming sessions available on Friday, October 21st. Please visit the Swim Center on Sunday 11am-5pm for our next Family Recreational Swimming time.

The Santa Monica Swim Center Fitness Pool will be closed all day on Friday, October 14th and Friday October 21st due to Santa Monica College Water Polo Tournament. Limited lap lanes in Splash Pool, check website for hours. Come cheer the team on!

The Swim Center will be closed 12:00 pm – 5:00 pm on October 16th for Swim Center employee training.

This class is for participants 16 years and older who would like to become a Certified Water Safety Instructor. Students will receive in-depth online learning with detailed class instruction, demonstration and practice. All participants should have access to the internet.

Class Prerequisites:

• Complete 25 yards each of front crawl, back crawl, breast stroke, elementary back stroke, sidestroke and 15 yards butterflyMaintain position on back for 1 minute in deep water

• Tread water for 1 minute

Requirements for Successful Completion

• This is a blended learning course; all participants must have access to the internet

• Attend all classes (no exceptions)

• Complete all on-line segments and turn in weekly progress reports

• Pass all skills tests and score 80% or higher on written exams

The Santa Monica Swim Center will be closed all day on Saturday, September 24th and Sunday September 25th due to Team Santa Monica Swim Meet.

The City of Santa Monica is excited to bring you the American Red Cross blended learning lifeguard training class. This class is for participants 15 years and older who would like to become an American Red Cross Certified Lifeguard. We will combine in depth on line learning with detailed class instruction, demonstration and practice.

Upon successful completion of this course, participants will receive American Red Cross certification in Lifeguarding, CPR for the Professional Rescuer, Oxygen Administration and Title 22 (First Aid for Public Safety Personnel). In order to pass the course and receive certification, participants are required to attend all sessions of the course for the full times listed, no exceptions.

The Santa Monica Swim Center will be open Labor Day Monday September 5th from 10:00am-2:00pm for lap swim and recreational swimming. No same day call in reservations for lap swim that day.

Saturday and Sunday same day call in reservations are changing! Beginning Saturday, August 26th same day call in reservations for Saturdays and Sundays will take place from 9:30 am-11:00 am for reservations beginning at 11:00 am. Please call 310-458-8700 for more information.
