The Santa Monica Swim Center will undergo its Annual Preventative Maintenance Closure from Monday, December 15, 2025, through Sunday, January 4, 2026.

This year, we are planning extensive repairs on the Fitness Pool Deck, including replacement of the pool grates and concrete reinforcement as part of our winter maintenance. While we anticipate adhering to the scheduled reopening date, unforeseen issues may arise once repairs are underway. In the event that additional work is required, the closure period may be extended.

For the most up-to-date information on the closure timeline and project status, we encourage all patrons to visit the Santa Monica Swim Center website, where updates will be posted throughout the maintenance period.

What to Expect During the Closure

Each winter, our beloved facility undergoes a series of maintenance projects to ensure continued safety, efficiency, and comfort for all users leading into peak swimming seasons. This year’s projects include:

  • Fitness Pool Deck Repairs and Drainage Work – replacement of corner perimeter pool grates, concrete reinforcement, hydro-jetting of deck drains, and resealing of expansion joints.

  • Chemical Room and Pump Room Maintenance – cleaning of chlorine and acid vats, resealing of the chlorine vat floor, and exercising of all valves.

  • Locker Room and Shower Area Upgrades – fixture updates, installation of new shower hooks, and floor surface assessments.

  • Boiler and HVAC Service – annual tune-ups and part replacements to ensure consistent heating and energy efficiency.

  • Exterior and Facility Upkeep – gutter cleaning, lighting and outlet inspection, and deep custodial cleaning throughout the facility.

These efforts are essential to maintaining a safe and high-quality experience for our community year-round.
