LA County has green light the reopening of additional recreation and facilities, including public swimming pools. The City of Santa Monica will begin to reopen select facilities and programs with restrictions on a rolling basis beginning July 2020. We are working on facility improvements to ensure a safe reopening for the community and working to make necessary changes to programming due to modified operating hours, staff reductions, social distancing, and infection control guidance. Thank you all for your patience and understanding while we work to safely reopen Santa Monica. We are just as excited as you are about welcoming you back. Please check santamonica.gov/coronavirus-cancellations for information as it becomes available.

The Santa Monica Swim Center is not yet open. Santa Monica is currently planning for reopening, including cleaning and social distancing protocols. We will announce re-opening dates to the public as soon as possible.
Pool availability will be extremely limited after reopening. This is because of new Public Health required social distancing requirements to prevent the spread of COVID-19. We are required to severely limit the number of persons in the pool. We will provide more details on program modifications as soon as we are able. We appreciate your patience during this challenging time.

Thank you all for your patience and understanding while the Swim Center is closed. While we are all excited to see our swimmers back in the water, we have a responsibility to ensure a safe return to the pool. We need to be creative and flexible as we re-imagine what that looks like for the Santa Monica Swim Center. This framework will be based on the best information available to begin doing that. Although the Los Angeles County Department of Public Health Department may soon announce the re-openings of pools, we will need time to ensure all safety measures are in place before welcoming back staff and swimmers. We will work hard to ensure all requirements and guidelines as outlined by the County are strictly adhered to. When we are ready to announce a re-opening date we will post it here on our website as well as our Facebook page. Again, we truly appreciate your understanding as we work to ensure a safe return to the Swim Center.

EXTENDED CLOSURES AND CANCELLATIONS
The City of Santa Monica has extended our local emergency and all orders until April 30.

As a reminder, please STAY HOME, practice physical distancing of at least 6 feet, wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds, and avoid touching your face with unwashed hands.
